They stomp and march to earn their place,
But I was born to float through space.
No armor here, no boot or blade,
Just whispers from the wounds I’ve made.

A line I dance with wings, not pride,
Not hiding scars, but what’s inside.
Each step I take is not in despair.
It’s healing danced with wings in the air.
What am I?

This week’s buildshop is a movement, a new rhythm. Based on the F.A.I.T.H. model (Faith, Affirmation, Introflexion, Transformation, Healing), we will explore what it means to live and move through life as a butterfly in flight, guided by inner light rather than outer illusion.

No shade in stomping with our “boots on the ground”.
Now it’s time to raise our “ wings in the air”.

There’s a line dance trending across the nation called “Boots on the Ground.” It’s a powerful reflection of movement, community, and grounding. But in the Land of WizOz, we’re being called to a different rhythm, Wings in the Air. Here, we are not just stepping; we are flying. We are moving not from survival but from transformation. F.A.I.T.H. guides us: Faith, Affirmation, Introspection, Transformation, and Healing, the sacred choreography of our transformation and healing journey.

Where trauma once dictated the rhythm, we now let Love and Light lead. This week, we reclaim joy not as a performance, but as a practice. We raise our wings in the Air to remind the world that we were never meant to crawl forever. “Wings In The Air” is our dance and this dance is about our healing, transformation, and movement.

The Spiritual Choreography of Healing
There’s a line dance sweeping the streets, thumping boots in synchronized rhythm to the beat of survival. It’s called “Boots on the Ground”, and in many ways, it’s an anthem of presence, of fight, of staying grounded through storms. But for those of us on the journey from trauma to transformation, from pain to purpose, we need more than rhythm on pavement. We need “Wings In The Air”.

Butterflies don’t do battle on the ground. They soar. They trust wind, light, and frequency. They dance through sunlight because they know metamorphosis didn’t come to keep them crawling. They didn’t suffer the darkness of the cocoon to prove they could survive. They transformed to show us how to fly.

So now, we choreograph a new spiritual movement for healing and transformation. This Butterfly Line Dance is a mystical line dance for the soul, not just the soles. Not performed with stomping feet, but with hearts lifted in rhythm to healing, affirmation, manifestation, and transformation. We call it Wings in the Air, and its sacred choreography is born from five sacred steps encoded in the acronym F.A.I.T.H.:
FFaith in your ability to heal.
AAffirmation as Your Healing Language.
IIntroflexion, the inward gaze that births clarity.
TTransformation, the rewiring of your narrative.
HHealing, the wholeness that rises from your scars.
Wings In The Air is not just a theory; it is a healing modality in motion. This process of trusting Love enough to enter our cocoon is what I refer to as intentional transformation, rooted in the belief that healing is not something that happens to us, but rather something we participate in through the conscious engagement of our spirit.
The Butterfly Line Dance of F.A.I.T.H.
To journey into the Land of WizOz is not merely to walk the Yellow Brick Road; it is to dance a sacred rhythm from trauma into transformation. We do not march. We flow. We do not crawl. We rise. We do not wait for magic from the Wizzo. We become the miracle.
Each movement in this dance is encoded in F.A.I.T.H., an intentional choreography of emotional, spiritual, and psychological healing. These are not steps to perform; they are frequencies to embody.

F – Faith: The Bridge Between the Cocoon and the Sky
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
In the world of trauma, faith often feels like a dangerous luxury. When your past has been riddled with betrayal, abandonment, or loss, believing in a better tomorrow can feel like walking into another trap. And yet, faith is the energy that breaks the cocoon. In the Land of WizOz, Manifest and Hope are not walking to find healing; they are walking because they believe healing is possible. Their steps are guided not by Wizzo’s promises but by a quiet flame inside that says, “There is more to me than this pain.”
Theory Connection: Albert Bandura’s theory of Self-Efficacy suggests that our belief in our ability to influence outcomes is essential for motivation and resilience. Healing, too, begins with belief. Without faith in healing, the journey cannot start.

A – Affirmation: The Language of Light
“Your word is your wand.” – Florence Scovel Shinn.
If faith is the compass, then affirmation is the incantation. Affirmations are the spiritual language of the Butterfly Line Dance. They are the declarations that tell the universe and our neurobiology that we are not trapped in the trauma of our past. Claude Steele’s Self-Affirmation Theory teaches that affirming core values helps buffer the psyche against threat and fear. Every time a journeyer says, “I am worthy of Love,” or “I believe in my transformation,” they are building cognitive armor and rewriting survival code. In the Land of WizOz, affirmations are not pretty quotes; they are keys to inner locks. They open doors within the heart’s chambers long sealed shut by fear.

I – Introflexion: The Gaze That Turns Inward
“He who looks outside dreams; he who looks inside awakens.” – Carl Jung.
Introflexion is the sacred art of internal observation. Unlike reflection, which often reviews, introflexion descends. It is a cocoon ritual, a descent into the layers of the soul to understand the origin of our wounds, our beliefs, and our patterns. In the Land of WizOz, this is the moment when Manifest no longer runs from his reflection. When Shamu realizes the pool was never his home. When the Grinch turns from bitterness to belonging, this is the inward journey, and it is not for the faint of heart.
Theory Connection: Narrative Identity Theory (McAdams, 2001) explains how we make sense of our lives through the stories we tell. Introflexion allows us to interrogate those stories. It helps us notice when our “I am not enough” narratives were ghostwritten by trauma.

T – Transformation: The Dance of Becoming
“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” – Dr Bruce.
Transformation is the alchemy of healing. It is not perfect. It is a process. It is stepping out of survival scripts and choosing joy, Love, and purpose; not because the pain has disappeared, but because we have decided to become more than it. The Yellow Brick Road was supposed to lead us to salvation. But when we realize the Wizzo was an illusion, we stop chasing and begin becoming. That’s transformation. It is not easy. It is sacred.
Theory Connection: Naim Akbar’s Transformative Psychology emphasizes that Black psychological well-being involves a spiritual return to self, reclaiming purpose, and releasing trauma as identity. Transformation is not about becoming someone else; it is about remembering who you’ve always been.

H – Healing: The Sacred Unfolding of the Butterfly
“Healing is not the absence of pain, but the presence of wholeness.” – Dr. Bruce Purnell.
Healing is not linear. It spirals, unravels, dissolves, and reassembles. It is a song you must hum even when your throat trembles. Healing is the heartbeat of the Butterfly Line Dance; it is why we showed up. Healing is when Shamu finds the ocean, when Medusa softens. Healing occurs when the Grinch releases resentment; it is when Hope becomes more than a name, but a way of being.
Theory Connection: Post-Traumatic Growth (Tedeschi & Calhoun, 2004) demonstrates that individuals can develop a more profound sense of purpose, improved relationships, and a new appreciation for life through their healing journeys. Healing is not just recovery. It’s evolution.

Claude Steele and Self-Affirmation as a Dance Move
I want to emphasize that my amazing Brother, Claude Steele’s, Self-Affirmation Theory teaches us that we become more resilient when we affirm the parts of ourselves that are rooted in values, not performance. When we declare “I am worthy,” even in the face of rejection or failure, our psychological immune system grows stronger. This affirmation becomes one of the most essential dance steps in the choreography of emotional emancipation and transformation.
So in the Butterfly Line Dance, Affirmation is not a lyric, it’s a lead move. Every time we say, “I am enough,” or “I was born to fly,” we pivot away from our pain and lean into possibility. We spin toward joy. We sidestep despair. In the Land of WizOz, while many are still looking for the Wizzo, the Journeyers of the Heart are lifting their wings in midair, catching divine wind. They’re no longer asking for permission to be whole; they’re embodying their sacred choreography. That is right, journeyers, you are being called to the dance floor to heal and transform. Not to impress. Not to perform. But to transform.
You are called to a magical, spiritual dance floor in Club Transformation, where you will get in alignment and demonstrate that you have rehearsed the sacred steps of F.A.I.T.H. until each move becomes a part of your soul’s muscle memory. Moreover, no shade on the world’s boots-on-the-ground dance of urgency and survival, I will be doing it with them. However, our enlightened choice is Wings in the Air. We move to a rhythm of Love, Joy, Hope, Forgiveness, Purpose, and Light. We are not just stepping in line. We are stepping into healing. And in our flight, we become the music.

From Boots to Wings
Let the world stomp with boots on the ground.  We are butterflies with wings in the air. F.A.I.T.H. is our choreography. We don’t dance to forget the past. We dance to remember our Light. And when the song plays in our souls, We raise our wings and join the rhythm of healing.

EXERCISE: The Butterfly Line Dance of F.A.I.T.H.
Instructions:
Find a quiet space, or do this with your group. Imagine yourself dancing, not for others, but for your healing.
1. Faith – The Starting Step
Close your eyes. Whisper aloud:“I believe that healing is possible for me.”
Write down one belief you wish you had about yourself, even if you’re not there yet.
2. Affirmation – The Beat
Say aloud your chosen affirmation three times: “I am enough. I am healing. I am becoming.”
3. Introflexion – The Pause
Journal:What story have I told myself that needs to be rewritten?
4. Transformation – The Turn
What is one behavior, pattern, or relationship that you are willing to release to make space for your next self?
5. Healing – The Rise
Breathe deeply and raise your arms as if they were wings. Take a selfie of your butterfly self.
Say aloud: “I forgive what hurt me. I welcome what heals me.”
