Join us for a powerful introduction to The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart, the long-awaited second book in the Butterfly series. This sacred session will guide us into the heart of transformation, where we learn to trust the cocoon, develop our spiritual circulatory systems, and begin the internal rewiring that allows healing, Love, and transformation to flow. This Monday, we are not waiting for the Wizzo. We are not finessing our way into healing. We are going inward, to the place where joy, forgiveness, and divine purpose reside.
Every transformation begins with a whisper: “You were made for more.”
But what follows that whisper is often a period of silence, stillness, and disorientation. In The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart, we call that space the cocoon. We don’t skip over the struggle. We don’t glamorize the wings. We are honest about what it takes to build the spiritual, emotional, and energetic systems that allow us to carry healing, not just experience it in moments.
This Butterfly Monday, we will explore what it means to:
Stop performing and start becoming
Heal not for applause but for alignment
Develop a spiritual circulatory system strong enough to carry your wings
As we prepare for the deeper journey ahead, let us take this moment to reflect, reconnect, and reclaim the truth: Healing is not a destination. It is a way of being. And you are already on the path.
My Journey of the Heart
I start with boots upon the ground,
In Divine purpose, where my truth is found.
I embrace my shadow, slow and low,
Unsure of what I am meant to know.
Not Status Quo, or Red Stoplights with words that say go
Traumatic Commercials, Actors, Plot Lines, and Shows,
Knowledge of Self: How much do I know?
And how does this knowledge influence my flow?
Am I excited about the Spring, or praying it doesn’t snow?
“Do I really believe that I am a star?”
or did Trauma stop me from dreaming that Far?
My spirit constantly fights to be freed from that jar.
And the violence makes me wonder if this is truly who we are
Then the Angels quiet the thoughts, and a whisper stirs within my heart.
A call to Pause, Love, Forgive, Heal, Dream, Rebuild, and Restart.
The old traumatic rooms, I am choosing to close doors,
To release the pain, to transform once more.
And sometimes the dark may blur my sight,
Inside me grows through Love and Light.
No map, no guide, just my Creator, Ancestors, and time.
A Journey to Joy, A portal to find.
Then breath returns, and wings unfold,
My story rises like the Phoenix, brave and bold.
Who am I that no longer fears the night
and has found that they always held the light?

The caterpillar’s transformation into a butterfly symbolizes our capacity for growth and change. It is not just a superficial shift; it demands a profound transformation that causes us to retreat into the innermost parts of ourselves, into the cocoon that our inner caterpillar creates for self-reflection and growth. In this sacred space of inner work, the magic of transformation begins to unfold. The miracle of metamorphosis demonstrates that these conditions are not the end. Inside every caterpillar lies the hidden code of the butterfly, waiting to be awakened within the cocoon. The cocoon is a sacred space where breakdown becomes breakthrough, struggle turns into strength, and what once crawled is prepared to soar. This is the arena of transformation, and each of us is invited to recognize that, regardless of how challenging our circumstances may be, the potential to evolve remains alive within us. The caterpillar’s journey reminds us that we are not meant to stay on the ground where we start but are meant to find wings that lift us to new heights in life.
The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart is more than just a story; it is a sacred door, a gateway into deep layers of transformation that every soul is invited to explore. This book begins the second chapter of a five-part journey, offering both an invitation and a map for stepping through portals of love, divine purpose, healing, and ultimate transformation. It serves as a blueprint for those who dare to enter the cocoon, trusting that within its stillness lies the potential for an enlightened, empowered, and awakened emergence. It calls out to leaders, healers, and travelers who are ready to break the cycles that have long controlled our personal, family, and community stories.
The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart seeks to ignite the desire to enter our divine cocoons and prepare for a transformative and healing adventure along the Yellow Brick Road in the mystical Land of WizOz. In WizOz, the rules of everyday reality no longer hold sway. Boundaries between the physical and the metaphysical become blurred, intuition and symbolism become trusted guides, and Love appears as the golden thread connecting the fabric of existence. This journey is not about fixing broken beings; instead, it celebrates sacred spirits with the power to heal, transform, and transcend. Our Yellow Brick Road may start as a path to find the Wizzo, but ultimately, it leads us back to our divine gifts, purpose, cocoons, and the birth of our divine butterflies. It is a rediscovery that within our cocoons already lie the wings of wisdom, creativity, resilience, Love, and the gifts that guide us as we navigate our worlds and rewrite our stories. In this magical landscape, we are called to face our pain and trauma not as burdens but as teachers. We release them in the spirit of transformation so we can step into our “Journey to Joy.”
A Sacred Pilgrimage
This is not just any book. It is a sacred journey into a transcendental realm within the multiverse, a realm where:
• Love Wins.
• Pain transforms into joy.
• The heart guides us home.
Here, we release doubt, fear, performance anxiety, and all the other limits of the old world, and embrace a new way of being. “To believe in butterflies is to believe that Love can transform even the darkest wounds into wings.”
As we journey through the Heart:
• We stop finessing and start feeling.
• We stop performing and start becoming.
• We stop seeking Love outside and realize we are the Love inside.
The Butterfly as a GPS
There is a reason this journey begins with the caterpillar as our guiding symbol and the yellow brick road as our metaphor for the universe. In every sacred tradition, the story of transformation reveals the same truth: before something can truly become, it must break open, surrender to change, and emerge in a new form. The butterfly is not only a symbol of beauty; it also serves as a guide for healing, transformation, and liberation. This is the essence of The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart: to trust the process of becoming, even when it feels uncertain, painful, or impossible. The cocoon might look like a grave, but it is, in fact, the womb of possibility.
How this book became The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart
This book was initially meant to follow ‘What It Means to Believe in Butterflies’ as the third part of a five-book series. We aimed to explore the mystical, metaphorical Yellow Brick Road of healing, filled with transformational guides, divine gifts, and the sacred journey to joy. However, as we began listening to the hearts and voices of our travelers, a powerful truth emerged. We could not start that journey. Not yet. Something vital was missing: belief. We found that many of us had been so deeply wounded by trauma that our ability to believe in healing, love, transformation, and divine purpose had been stripped away. We could not even trust our own affirmations. We repeated powerful phrases with our mouths while our hearts whispered: “Do I really believe this?”
The deeper issue was not just trauma; it was that we had grown to trust more in trauma than in transformation. We believed in brokenness, in coping, and in the pain that comes with it. However, we did not believe in healing. It became clear that The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart needed to come before the Yellow Brick Road, because without belief and faith in the cocoon, we would never choose to enter it. Furthermore, without trust in our ability to transform, we would treat affirmations as decorations rather than declarations.
Stigma adds another layer of complication. We are often taught to pretend, to finesse, to act as if we believe in healing while secretly doubting its power for us. We perform wholeness without truly experiencing it. We smile while feeling numb. We recite affirmations that have not been seeded in our souls. This book, then, is not just a reflection on transformation; it is the sacred process of rebuilding belief. It is the circulatory system that allows us to carry faith, hope, and Love back to the deepest parts of ourselves so we can say, and mean, “I believe in butterflies.”
In one of our transformation groups, a young woman shared that love, joy, trust, faith, and hope are becoming scarce virtues. She mentioned that she, along with many others, has become disillusioned and feels that our youth have stopped believing in transformation and no longer trust that better days are ahead. She went further to say that instead of focusing on hope, healing, love, and transformation, our attention is often limited to coping with life’s disappointments. Her honesty explains why many choose paths of avoiding or responding to trauma rather than dedicating energy to healing and transformation. When I shared her perspective with multigenerational groups, it was universally accepted. Her words emphasize the importance of belief in transformation.
From a caterpillar’s point of view, it does not consider becoming a butterfly. It simply follows its instincts, enters the cocoon, and allows the transformation to take place. It does not see failure or fear of not succeeding. The caterpillar’s heart is connected to its destiny of transformation. Humans are different. We analyze, compare, and judge possibilities. If our past includes pain, trauma, abandonment, or failure, we might believe that change is unlikely. Unresolved trauma causes us to see our cocoon as a tomb instead of a passage. Believing in butterflies means trusting the heart of the caterpillar and knowing instinctively that healing and change are possible. By believing in butterflies, we recognize that, despite our past, we can emerge into something beautiful, free, and divine.
This book is called The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart because it is not just about wings, but also about faith in the process, trusting ourselves, and having the courage to enter the cocoon even when hope seems threatened.
Believing in butterflies means having faith in: our divine gifts, the healing power of nature, the transformative power of faith, Love, our cocoons, and the transformative and healing journey of the heart.
Believing in butterflies means embracing that:
• Survival is not the destination.
• Joy is not a privilege; it is an essential part of healing.
• We do not need to be “fixed,” but instead to remember who we truly are.
• Healing is not about avoiding pain; it is about embracing wholeness.
• Our communities, when rooted in Love, possess the power to heal and uplift.
If you have ever felt stuck in survival mode, waiting for a sign that it is time to start thriving, here it is. You are not meant to stay a caterpillar or remain in the cocoon. You are here to fly. For those of us who have faced trauma, displacement, marginalization, and systemic oppression, transformation is not just a metaphor; it is essential for survival. However, we were designed to do more than survive. We were born to thrive, heal, reclaim our power, and rise. This book offers tools to guide our journey toward joy and serves as a valuable resource for transformation and healing. It builds on
“The Caterpillar’s WEB for Transformation” and prepares you for that mystical journey in
“What It Means To Believe In Butterflies: We Are Off To Unplug From The Wizzo”.
The Yellow Brick Road: Reprogramming Our GPS
Many of us grew up believing in the Wizzo, imagining that an external force or power would fix what was broken, fill our emptiness, and give us the validation we lacked. We were told to follow the Yellow Brick Road, convinced that if we kept walking the same path, pretending to be whole, and carefully navigating, we would eventually find the magic that made us complete. However, what happens when we realize the Wizzo is a lie? What if we discover that the Yellow Brick Road never truly led us anywhere because everything we were searching for was always inside us?
The Yellow Brick Road in the Land of WizOz is more than just a story; it functions as a symbolic space for healing and growth. It inspires us to confront the illusions that shape our identities and to reprogram our inner GPS, not toward external fixes but toward the heart. The Road becomes a journey of self-reclamation, where each step encourages us to replace survival patterns with meaningful change. This section, and the entire book, was written to help readers understand the many references throughout this journey to the characters, symbols, and metaphors that will be central in the next book, What It Means to Believe in Butterflies: We Are Off to Unplug from the Wizzo. That upcoming book builds upon the spiritual foundation we establish here. The Caterpillar’s Journey of the Heart prepares us for the inner transformation needed to navigate the Yellow Brick Road, not with fear or illusion, but with faith, healing, and sacred purpose.

The Journeyers: Manifest and Hope
We walk this road with two young guides, Manifest and Hope, along with many other characters who help us turn trauma into hope and shape our path to joy.
• Manifest embodies the ability to turn the impossible into reality. He possesses the gift of vision, the courage to speak new worlds into existence, and the determination to demonstrate what healing looks like in action. Manifest shows us that change does not come from wishful thinking but from aligning intention with purposeful action.
• Hope is the flame that refuses to go out, even in the darkest night. She embodies the innate belief that life can be more than trauma, more than cycles of harm. Hope does not deny pain; she whispers through it, reminding us that every cocoon carries the promise of wings.
Together, Manifest and Hope guide us along the Yellow Brick Road, not toward illusion, but toward ourselves.
The Antagonists: Wizzo, Pied Piper, and Past Trauma
Every sacred journey reveals not only allies but also enemies. In the Land of WizOz, the antagonists are not cartoon villains; they embody fundamental forces that hinder our transformation.
• The Wizzo symbolizes the illusion of external salvation and the belief that healing, validation, and wholeness come from outside ourselves. He is the false light, the master of illusion, and the finesse that keeps us distracted from our own divine power.
• The Pied Piper represents temptation disguised as alluring music. He draws us into distractions, promising freedom but actually leading us into cycles of avoidance. His sounds may seem friendly, but they prevent us from doing the deeper work needed for change.
• Past trauma can be the most dangerous enemy because it lives inside us. It appears as memory, self-doubt, and fear. It whispers that we are not safe, that our cocoon is a tomb, and that change is too risky to try.
These forces conspire to keep us walking in circles, mistaking illusion for destiny.
Characters to Heal
Not every figure on the Yellow Brick Road is an enemy. Some are not villains at all, but wounded archetypes that symbolize unhealed parts of ourselves. They represent the grief, rejection, and power that trauma has distorted, but they also hold the potential for significant healing.
• Medusa: Once a beautiful maiden, transformed by violence and cursed into a monster, Medusa teaches us how trauma can turn beauty into fear. Her healing begins when we look beyond rage to see the pain underneath.
• Hannibal Barca: A military genius driven by vengeance and legacy, Hannibal represents inherited trauma and the burden of unresolved conflicts. His transformation happens not through conquest but through kindness and reconnecting with his inner child.
• The Grinch: Lonely and disappointed, he personifies emotional withdrawal. His journey is about finding joy, belonging, and the courage to love again.
• Rudolph and Hermey: Misfits and outsiders, they represent the pain of exclusion and the beauty of being unique. Their healing comes from embracing what makes them different as part of their divine purpose.
• Shamu the Killer Whale: Built for the ocean but kept in performance tanks, Shamu symbolizes a trapped soul within systems. His healing comes from freedom, as he returns to a natural state of wonder and wildness.
Alongside these figures are protectors and guides who accompany us through every stage of transformation.
• Pops: A wise elder who grounds us in ancestral wisdom and unconditional love.
• Queen O: A matriarchal force of fierce compassion and spiritual clarity. She guards the gateways of healing and reminds us of our sacred inheritance.
• The Eagles: Symbols of divine vision and ascension. They embody the courage to rise, to soar beyond limitations, and to remember our higher calling.
Together, these characters create the playing field of the Yellow Brick Road. They are not just entertainment; they mirror our lives. They remind us of the real conflicts, gifts, wounds, and wisdom that reside within us. Each one has something to teach us. Some must be faced. Some must be healed. All must be acknowledged. They walk with us on the Yellow Brick Road, preparing us for the deeper journey in What It Means to Believe in Butterflies. The Yellow Brick Road in the Land of Oz is more than just a story; it serves as a symbolic space for healing and growth. It encourages us to confront illusions that shape our identities and to reprogram our inner GPS, not toward external fixes but toward the heart. The Road becomes a journey of self-reclamation, with each step urging us to replace survival patterns with purposeful change.
