Why do we keep running from ourselves and to the Wizzo? This Butterfly Monday, we return to the prophetic wisdom of Bob Marley: “Ya running and ya running, and ya running away, but ya can’t run away from yourself.” Together, we will explore how trauma, performance, and survival scripts keep us stuck in Shamu Consciousness, which entails swimming in circles, performing for fish, and forgetting the ocean.
We will ask:
• Why does the journey inward feel so hard?
• How do we confuse movement with healing?
• What does it mean to stop running, enter the cocoon, and embrace our chrysalis?
This session will help us understand why the inner road is the less-traveled path and how Love, forgiveness, and deep reflection can guide us back to our divine selves.
We are not running from pain, but returning to truth, and breaking free from the pool. Join us as we stop swimming in circles and begin remembering our wings.
Why We Get Stuck in Shamu Consciousness
The echo of Bob Marley’s voice resonates through time, wrapped in wisdom:
“Ya running and ya running, and ya running away, but ya can’t run away from yourself.”
These words are more than just poetry. They serve as prophecy.
These words explore the paradox of the human journey: our constant attempts to escape pain, grief, fear, disappointment, and memory, only to realize that what we try to run from is not behind us but inside us. This is one of the deepest truths of Shamu Consciousness.
Shamu Consciousness is the awareness of adaptation, a state that emerges when a majestic being, born in the ocean, learns to adjust, believe, and survive in a pool. It is the part of us that performs, copes, and repeats what earns fish, while forgetting core pillars of humanity, such as sovereignty, Love, Joy, and freedom. It is not a weakness; it is survival awareness, and survival often looks like movement.
We stay busy.
We keep searching.
We perform.
We scroll.
We work.
We self-medicate.
We chase relationships, titles, applause, or distractions, all because stillness feels dangerous.
The inward journey is the less-traveled path because it requires facing what trauma has caused us to fear: vulnerability, introspection, forgiveness, surrender, and the breaking down of illusions. It is easier to look for answers outside than to take the time to listen to what the soul is trying to say. But our genuine healing journey doesn’t come from working harder, seeking new distractions, wearing shinier masks, or chasing external validation. The Wizzo can only provide performance, numbness, and illusion.
Healing begins when we pause long enough to enter the cocoon and embrace our Chrysalis. Like Dr. Norma Harris shares, we must take a “Sacred Pause.” Cocooning is not quitting, collapsing, or a sign of weakness. It is the sacred process of restoring our divine essence, fully submitting to our divine chrysalis, and enduring the discomfort of growing wings we already carry.
We do not heal by finding something outside ourselves but by remembering what was always inside.
This Butterfly Monday, we are invited to ask what I am running from, what I have mistaken for healing, and what would happen if I stopped long enough to come home?
Exercise
Where Am I Running?
Step 1: Name the Running
Complete the sentence:
“I usually run by…”
Examples:
• staying busy
• working too much
• shutting down emotionally
• scrolling
• people pleasing
• numbing
• overthinking
Write your answer.
Step 2: Name What It Protects
Ask yourself:
“What pain, memory, or fear am I trying not to feel?”
Write that down gently, without judgment.
Step 3: Reframe the Cocoon
Now complete this sentence:
“If I stopped running, I might finally…”
Examples:
• hear what my heart is saying
• rest
• forgive
• remember who I am
• begin healing
Step 4: One Small Turn Inward
Choose one act of cocooning for this week:
• journaling
• resting without guilt
• telling one truth
• asking for support
• sitting in silence for 5 minutes
• listening to a healing song without multitasking
Write your commitment:“This week, instead of running, I will…”
Quiz
Am I Running Away from Myself?
Rate each from 1 (Rarely) to 5 (Often)

I stay busy so I don’t have to feel what’s underneath.

Stillness makes me uncomfortable.

I often look outside myself for comfort, worth, or validation.

I confuse coping with healing.

I use performance to feel safe.

I avoid emotional honesty because it feels risky.

I feel like I am always “moving” but not necessarily changing.

I want healing, but I struggle to slow down enough to receive it.
Reflection
• 8–16: You are beginning to notice the running.
• 17–28: You are between performance and cocooning.
• 29–40: Your body may be asking for stillness, rest, and deeper healing.
This is not a judgment.
It is an invitation.
Reflection Questions

What might become possible if you stopped running and trusted Love enough to stay?
Reflection
What does “running away from yourself” look like in your life?

What do you tend to search for outside yourself when you feel empty or overwhelmed?

How did you learn that stillness was unsafe?

What does the cocoon represent for you right now?

We are becoming the “Social Architects” and “Social Alchemists” who will design our healing and transformation.  Let’s affirm and manifest our divine cocoons together. #WeAreTheButterflyEffect
